Friday 12th December

Happy Christmas jumper day!

Today we had our Christmas dinner and it was delicious! We made crowns and we got to wear them all day.

We filled up our class reward jar so, as our treat, we get to wear our pyjamas to school on Thursday!

As part of our Stone age to Iron age unit, we learnt the different time periods and how long they lasted for. The Stone Age lasted for 2.6 million years!

In music we learnt how to play a xylophone. Despite giving Mrs Timms a headache, she said we did very well.

Have a lovely weekend,

Badger Class

Thursday 24th November

We started our new topic this week ‘Stone age to Iron age’ and to kick things off we learnt about the mystery of Stonehenge. We created our own interpretations of Stonehenge out of biscuits…educational and delicious!
We learnt that the Stone Age period was 2.6 million years ago and that humans used to live in caves. We also learnt that the UK used to be part of Europe but when the ice age hit and that ice melted, it caused us to break away and the UK turned into the island it is today!

Friday 18th November

We had great fun tasting WW2 rationed foods this week…corned beef had mixed reviews! We created Andy Warhol inspired art and chose bright colours to mimic those used in pop art. We learnt a song all about Remembrance Day. You can find this on our seesaw page!

Friday 11th November

We have been learning about WW2 and in particular, the digging for victory campaign and rationing. We are excited to taste some foods next week that were rationed during the war. We joined the rest of the school today for our silence to remember those that fought for our country.

We also had an inspiring talk from Corey Samuels who is a Bristol Flyers basketball player. We loved watching his dribbling and jumping skills. He even had a race with Aston and a high jump challenge with Antoine! Corey gave us a signed basketball to keep at school! We felt very lucky.
