Cadbury Heath Primary School loves sport!
The pupils of Cadbury Heath Primary School enjoy a fantastic range of sporting opportunities.
Working closely with Bristol Bears, Bristol Flyers and even enjoying the company of famous Paralympic athletes, we understand just how important it is to have an active and healthy lifestyle.
Here we are working with Bristol Bears to learn all about how Maths and sport often go hand-in-hand as part of our Sums & Scrums activities.
With Bristol Flyers, we looked at how healthy bodies need healthy lifestyles. Just look at how much sugar we found in sugary drinks!
When Paralympic sprinter Katrina Hart came to our school, we learnt all about the importance of resilience. Feeling inspired, we just had to show her our sprinting skills too….
Last year, we achieved SILVER in the Sainsbury School Games Mark for the 5th year in a row. This year, by ensuring that our pupils continue to experience opportunities for competition and leadership, we will be going for GOLD.
‘Sport has always had a high priority in the school, as demonstrated by the cabinet full of cups won by the children in recent years. The additional funding for primary sport is developing the skills of those with particular interest and talent in sport as well as encouraging the pupils who would not normally join afterschool sports clubs… More than 90% of all pupils say that their levels of fitness have improved and that they will continue with sports activities in the future.’ OFSTED 2015
